TUD Document Delivery Service

How much does this service cost?

We will demand a service fee of € 6.00 per document after July 1st, 2016. You can check your library user account to see the current status of fees accrued.

Who is entitled to use this service?

All employees, university lecturers, or professors currently under contract with the Dresden University of Technology (TUD) may use this service.

Please note: You must be a registered user of the SLUB Dresden for eligibility verification.

If you are eligible to use this service, the SLUB catalog will indicate the availability of this document delivery service, provided you have already logged in.

Which documents can be requested?

Articles from journals and individual chapters from books that are not loanable and are located in the holdings of the Central Library can be scanned.

Which documents are not available for delivery?

The following are not available for the TUD document delivery service:

  • Articles that are already available in the online Electronic Journals Library (German),
  • Articles or excerpts from books or journals which were published before 1850 (in these cases, please contact the Dresden Digitization Center, which provides a pay-as-you-go service for ordering digital copies of printed media),
  • Any excerpt or article whose length exceeds 15% of the entire number of pages in the original work.

How many documents can I order?

You may order up to 5 articles or book excerpts per day, free of charge.

In accordance to copyright regulations, all orders which amount to more than 15% of the original number of pages will not be available for this service.

When will I receive my documents?

It usually takes less than 72 hours to process requests for the TUD document delivery service. You will receive your documents per e-mail as PDF files, which can be opened using the Adobe Acobat Reader (free download).

File sizes may reach 30 MB, which in some cases may present a problem, depending on the storage space available in your e-mail account. In such cases, please contact your system administrator. 

Should you encounter problems opening the attached PDF file, you can ask to receive a link to an FTP server, where you can download the file.

How do I request my documents?

Please log into your user account on the SLUB Website.

After you've found the journal or book title, look for the "TU" symbol indicating availability for this service. Clink on the link provided, and you will be taken to the online order form, which will already contain much of the necessary information. Please finish filling out this form and press "send" to complete your order.

If it is not possible for us to carry out your request, you will receive notification via e-mail or telephone, provided you entered this information in the order form.
