Eiermann Collection
Lothar Eiermann, chef at the gourmet restaurant of the noble Wald- & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe, donated speeches and correspondences from this period to the SLUB.


Like Wolfram Siebeck and Herbert Schönberner, Lothar Eiermann is an integral part of the German culinary miracle. Born in Stühlingen in Baden-Württemberg in 1945, he began his training as a chef in 1959. After successfully completing his apprenticeship and a short time in the company where he trained, he went to Switzerland in 1963, worked in many different kitchen positions and restaurants, completed a degree in business administration and then went to Scotland and England. He only returned to Germany as a chef 10 years later, in 1973, and took over as head chef in the gourmet restaurant of the luxury Wald- & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe.
Lothar Eiermann's donation mainly comprises documents relating to his professional career in the gourmet restaurant at the Wald- & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe, such as press reports, speeches and correspondence.
