Research projects to participate in

Are you interested in Saxon history and regional studies? Then why not support the SLUB Dresden in making Saxon publications of all media types and fields of knowledge accessible to the entire public?

As the state library of the Free State of Saxony, a central legal mandate of the SLUB is to collect and archive literature, visual and audio media about Saxony as well as publications that appear here. Are you interested in fulfilling this mission together with us? Then you are invited to participate in the following projects.

Saxon Bibliography

The Saxon Bibliography is the central reference tool for media about Saxony and is constantly being expanded - also with the help of users. We have developed a template that allows you to quickly and easily integrate literature references from the Saxon Bibliography into Wikipedia articles.

Dresden Book of Remembrance of the Dead 1914-1918

More than 100 years ago, employees of the Dresden Council Archives began work on the Dresden Book of the Dead - a register of all soldiers who died in the First World War. To this day, it has still not been possible to index all the index cards. Please help us to further process and publish this important source for social and family history as well as for genealogical research. There is an online consultation every Thursday from 15:00 to 16:00.

Researching spatial change processes over time - support us with georeferencing

Record prominent points on historical maps in order to explore spatial change processes over time: Support us with georeferencing in the Virtual Map Forum. How long has a house been standing on a certain spot? Has a plot of land ever been affected by flooding? How has the landscape changed through settlement processes and mining? There are many questions - help us find answers.

Dresden Historical Society

The Dresden History Society and our #Datenlaube project team show how you can openly research an association's history on the internet. Transcribing historical publications, indexing their contents, researching the biographies of association members - you will find numerous opportunities to get involved.

How to use our offer

Have you got the urge and would like to join in yourself? You can find support for this collaborative knowledge work through event formats such as the WikiLibrary Barcamp or the Wiki regulars' tables.
