Library Tours

Guided tours of the Central Library take place regularly once a month on Wednesdays and Saturdays. You can register for a guided tour on the dates offered via our events calendar (see below). 

We also offer individual guided tours for groups of 10-20 people on request. To make an appointment for a guided tour of the Central Library, please contact us at least 3 weeks in advance at tour@slub-dresden.de. The tour can be carried out in German, English or in simple German (for non-native speakers with language level B1-B2 according to CEFR).

We ask for your understanding that for groups of 20 people or more, the tour must be divided into several individual groups.

Museum and Exhibitions

There are also regular public guided tours of the Dresden Maya Codex and our special exhibitions in the Book Museum (Treasury) and at other locations. The number of participants on our guided tours in the Treasury is limited. We therefore ask you to book in advance via our events calendar. To arrange a guided tour on an individual date, please contact us at buchmuseum@slub-dresden.de. 

Admission and guided tours are free of charge. However, we welcome donations for the preservation of our valuable manuscripts. You can find a donation box in the Treasury. 

Please stow your bags, coats or jackets in the lockers in the foyer or in front of the Book Museum before the tour begins. You will need a deposit of 1 euro.
