Consortia and alliances
The Saxon State Office leads various consortia, enabling public libraries in Saxony to take advantage of numerous offers at reduced costs.
Filmportal filmfriend
Would you like to offer your users easy online access to an extensive video-on-demand offer? With filmfriend this is possible. Users register with their ID number and password via their library's homepage or directly with filmfriend - and streaming can begin. The film catalogue ranges from German films to successful international art house cinema titles, TV and cinema documentaries, mainstream titles, children's films and series.
The film portal is a service offered by filmwerte GmbH, with which the Landesfachstelle has concluded a consortium agreement to establish a network. All interested libraries can join the network. We are the contact point between the participating libraries and the provider. Are you interested? We will be happy to advise you!
Onilo reading portal
Onilo is a learning-to-read portal that offers so-called board stories. Such animated picture books can be read on the PC or tablet, used for children's events as well as for free use in the children's library. In addition, there are worksheets to print out, craft instructions and interactive material for PC and tablet. The provider Onilo supports the libraries with ideas, instructions and seminars for practical implementation in the institutions.
There has been a consortium between Onilo and the Landesfachstelle for several years. As a result, all participating libraries from Saxony receive a special price and a 20 per cent discount.
More than 40 Saxon libraries have already joined the Saxon Onilo consortium. Since 2022, libraries have had the choice between two licence models. A library licence allows access to the entire offer. In addition, there is now also a lending licence. The special feature of this licence is the possibility to lend individual board stories or Onilo accesses.
Here too, we are the contact point between the participating libraries and Onilo. We provide information about offers, special promotions and licences and advise interested libraries.

Inspiration
Actionbound learning application
Actionbound is a learning application with which digital experience rallies (so-called bounds) can be created. Whether library tours, quizzes or theme rallies: the possibilities for use in the library are manifold. The Landesfachstelle will be happy to put you in touch with the provider.
There is a consortium between Actionbound and the Landesfachstelle. As a result, all participating libraries in Saxony receive a 10 percent discount on the list price.
Regional Onleihe networks
There are three on-lending networks in Saxon libraries. The regional office supervises their further development and annual coordination meetings.
Onleihe Sächsischer Raum
The e-media network Onleihe Sächsischer Raum is the largest network of its kind in Saxony. A wide range of media (books, magazines, audios) can be borrowed, downloaded or streamed here free of charge.
Onleihe network bibo-on
The e-media network bibo-on has been operating across cultural areas since May 2015. Registered users can borrow digital media here for a limited period of time. The offer includes e-books, e-papers and e-audios.
ONleihe Oberlausitz
Registered users can borrow digital media from the ONleihe Oberlausitz for a limited period of time. With access to selected Munziger and Genios online databases, the network offers additional sources of information.

Union catalogue for public libraries
In 2021, on the initiative of the state specialist unit, a consortium agreement was concluded with the Common Library Network (GBV), which enables Saxon public libraries to centrally list their holdings in the Union Catalogue for Public Libraries (ÖVK) of the GBV. This gives them the opportunity to order and lend any medium not available in their own library from another institution. In the meantime, more than 100 libraries from Saxony already belong to this network.

Prerequisite: Data export (total stock) from the library programme

- other library programmes - MAB2 format (if possible diskette format)
- LMSCloud - MARC21
The data exports to be made available for the Union Catalogue of Public Libraries are transferred via FTP to a computer in the GBV's union headquarters. You can use these instructions for this purpose. As a rule, the complete holdings are transferred four times a year. Shorter intervals (e.g. monthly) are possible after consultation with the ÖVK.
