Active learning break with paws

Learning break with paws

Our four-legged guest will patiently listen to you, help you forget the stresses of everyday life for a moment and clear your head. Whether petting, playing or simply observing, numerous studies have proven the positive effects of animals on people: The level of the stress hormone cortisol is lowered and rational thought processes are stimulated.

Severe stress, e.g. due to high pressure to perform during the exam period, can promote both physical and mental stress. With the active study break, we would like to offer students a short break during the core examination period.

How can you use the active learning break with Paws?

This service is available during the core examination times.

Time slots of 15 to 25 minutes can be reserved via our booking system. Bookings can be made individually or in small groups of up to four people. The active learning break takes place in the August-Bebel-Straße branch library / TextLab in the community garden.

The appointments are always planned and organised in consultation with the specialist and with the well-being of the therapy companion dog in mind. In order to recognise the dog's stress signals or the user's insecurities and to be able to intervene immediately, the specialist remains present during the entire appointment.
