The rooms in the SLUB TextLab invite you to work on your own writing projects. In addition, there are cosy indoor and outdoor areas for creative rest or exercise breaks and the bookable reading spaces in the CoCarrel.

How the SLUB TextLab adapts to your writing needs
In the SLUB TextLab, everyone is invited to work on their texts. The entire equipment is designed to support writers:
The flexible, foldable and rollable furniture in our writing rooms can be moved freely around the room . You can also create space for an active study break or a yoga class in just a few simple steps.
The technical equipment is mobile, for example the control panels of the projectors or the interactive digital whiteboards "Clevertouch" on their castors. Whether it's a circle of chairs in a small group or a frontal setting, you can roll the equipment to where you need it.
Sustainable, sound-absorbing materials in muted colours ensure a concentrated and quiet working atmosphere.
Bright, light-flooded rooms with plenty of daylight and fresh air ensure an alert mind and a good mood for writing. Open the windows, listen to the birds and enjoy the view of the greenery!
Standing, sitting, lounging: the workplace landscape in our Forum offers you a variety of sitting and standing postures - from a bar stool to a cosy sofa.
Writing groups welcome: For writing groups of up to four people, group workstations with large monitors are available in the forum of the SLUB TextLab for joint text work. Writing counselling is also available here if required. Larger writing groups can work in the workshop rooms T1 and T2. They can be reserved via the SLUB booking system.
Our modern CoCarrel is ideal for longer writing projects such as final theses. Here you will find four reading spaces that you can easily reserve for 3-6 weeks via the SLUB booking system. In addition to your fixed reading place (including locker and PC screen), the CoCarrel offers you a break corner with refrigerator and an acoustic booth for undisturbed telephone calls.
For parents with small children, there is a well-equipped parent-child room in the entrance area of the building.
You can make phone calls or take part in online meetings in an acoustically shielded booth without disturbing other library visitors.
In the garden behind the building and in the outdoor area in front of the library, folding tables and chairs, picnic benches and deckchairs invite you to work in the fresh air.
Breaks are part of writing: Relax in the reading lounge in the forum between writing phases - or be inspired by the current exhibition in our break room "Kaffeesatz".
