3D plaster printer
Our 3D plaster printer allows you to print three-dimensional objects, for example to produce a prototype or individual components. A specially prepared plaster is used as the starting material.
3D plaster printer - limited operation
Currently, the 3D plaster printer is available only upon request and only on trial operation. The Makerspace team will analyze the feasability of your individual project. The feasability depends on many - partly unpredictable - factors which is why prints may or may not succeed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
How to get your objects ready on the desired date
Please send us your request including the files to be printed in *.stl format at least one week before the date on which the objects must be ready to pick up. The corresponding consultation must take place at least five working days before this date.
... BOOK THE PLASTER PRINTER
First of all, please make an appointment request for the plaster printer.
Please provide us with the following information:
- User number and name
- Collection date: date by which the object must ready to pick up
- Description of the object (dimensions X Y Z-axis), quantity
- a separate file in *.stl format per object (several files as .zip archive, max. size 10 MB or link to cloud storage space)
Then, book an appointment for a consulation.
During the consultation our consultants, Bastian Elsner, Uta Fröhner, and Maik Jähne, will discuss the printing parameters and the printing date. The booked consultation must take place no later than five working days before the collection date.

Please bring the following with you to the appointment:
- your valid SLUBCard or Campuscard with activated SLUB functionality
- a separate file for each object in *.stl format, or for colour prints in *.vrml format, on a USB drive.
