If you intend to use our online ressources or would like to lend books from the SLUB, you will need a SLUBCARD. For simply staying at the SLUB you do not have to register.

Makerspaces are open spaces for people, new ideas and do-it-yourself projects. At the SLUB's DrePunct, you can try out new technologies and exchange experiences. Devices and machines, such as a laser engraver, a laser cutter and a 3D printer are available. You will need a vaild SLUBCARD to use our Makerspace.
Yes. The PC workstation for the blind and visually impaired is located at the Central Library, level 0, room 0.44. There, the software JAWS - Job Access with Speech is installed. The PC is equipped with a screen reader, a text-to-speech audio reader and a scanner for book edges. Please contact our staff at the Service Counter.
Yes. SLUB users can access the Wi-Fi net at every library location. All you need is a WiFi-enabled device and a valid SLUBCard or eduroam login. You can find further information on this page: secured WiFi in the SLUB
Our PC workstations are based on a Linux Mint system with a Firefox and Google Chrome browser. The language of the system and the application programs can be switched from German to English. Zotero is pre-installed. LibreOffice is available at all workstations. Research results can be sent by email or to a printing station, or can be transferred to a USB flash drive.
No. Eating and drinking is only permitted in the dedicated rooms (foyer, cafeteria, lunch rooms). Bottled water is allowed everywhere, except the special collections reading room.

Mit der SLUB-Katalog-App für iPhone und Android-Geräte recherchieren Sie mobil mit ihrem Smartphone in über 70 Mio. gedruckten und digitalen Büchern, Zeitschriften und Aufsätzen in verschiedenen Verzeichnissen und dem Bestand der SLUB Dresden.
Bei der Katalog-Recherche haben Sie die Möglichkeit die Ergebnisse mit Hilfe einer leistungsstarken Facettierung einzugrenzen, so dass Sie nur genau die Ergebnisse erhalten, nach denen Sie gesucht haben. Sie bekommen mit dieser App auch die Möglichkeit, im Bestand gefundene Bücher vorzumerken, bereits ausgeliehene Medien zu verlängern und Magazin-Bestellungen auszuführen. Sie können Ergebnis-Favoriten in einer übersichtlichen Notiz-Liste zusammenfassen und haben so jederzeit Zugriff darauf.
Ebenso erhalten Sie mit dieser App Zugriff auf eine Vielzahl an bibliotheksspezifischen Informationen sowie Lagepläne und Standortinformationen der einzelnen Zweigbibliotheken.
Die SLUB-App 2.0 ist auch für Tablets optimiert und wird stetig weiterentwickelt.
Book boxes are lockers where borrowed items can be kept temporarily. Please get in touch with our staff at the circulation desk of the respective SLUB location. In case all book boxes are occupied, you can make a reservation via the SLUB catalog.
There is no limit to the number of media that can be borrowed.
The SLUBCARD is valid for 400 days.
Alle Personen, die mindestens 14 Jahre alt sind, können die SLUB Dresden benutzen. Bitte nutzen Sie zunächst das Onlineformular, z.B. in der Zentralbibliothek auf den PCs im Foyer. Mit dem Vorlegen der gewonnenen Registrierungs-ID erhalten Sie Ihre SLUBCARD. Die Anmeldung ist an allen Standorten der SLUB an der Servicetheke möglich. Bringen Sie Ihren Personalausweis bzw. den Reisepass und die Meldebescheinigung mit. Studierende der TU Dresden legen bitte zusätzlich die Immatrikulationsbescheinigung vor.
