Tharandt / Forestry Library
The Tharandt / Forestry Library is located in the center of the Tharandt campus of the department of forest sciences in the Rossmaessler-Bau.
The branch library houses more than 126.000 volumes, among them approximately 200 current journals and a large number of bound journals.
A Highlight is the old stock with valuable works of the 16th to the 19th Century. Particularly the main collections on forestry and hunting are among the most comprehensive historical collections in German-speaking countries. It is only available for in-house use.
Another noteworthy part of the stock is the collection of degree and diploma theses of Tharandt, which have been collected since 1876. Today it also includes bachelor and master theses.
You want to study in a relaxed environment next to nature? Then use our reading places, which partially also allow quiet group work.
In the special reading room with 6 places you can primarly use our extensive old stock. If there is no corresponding need, the room can be used as a group workroom.
To use electronic research and information services we offer PC workstations and access to WLAN. In the entrance hall a standing workplace is equipped with an Internet PC.
To print your search results from one of the two CD-ROM-search places you need to have a copy card from ACRIBIT Copy shop SLUB.
To copy you can use the Bookeye-Scanner. It allows printing und saving documents on USB stick. The use is only possible with the copy card.
A copy card can be purchased and recharged in the branch library.
