Relocation of the Bergstraße Library - closed from 15 August 2022

Dear users,

We wish to inform you on this page about the relocation of the Bergstraße Library / Open Science Lab. During the course of this, there will be service restrictions from mid-August to early October 2022. We will of course keep these restrictions as low as possible for you.

The Bergstraße Library is moving: what, when, where, why?

As of 15 August 2022, the Bergstraße Library / Open Science Lab will be relocated in a new building. This is because extensive fire protection renovations will take place in the Faculty of Law (von Gerber Bau) building in the coming years. Until 12 August, the library will be open regularly. Due to the preparations for the move there may be isolated noise disturbances.

Beginning on 15 August 2022, the location will have to close for use for several weeks due to the move. After the move, the Bergstraße Library will be located in the interim building at Zellescher Weg 21-25. The Interim Bergstraße Library will open there at the beginning of the 2022/2023 winter semester.

The following limitations are to be expected:

Due to the closure from 15 August until the beginning of the winter semester 2022/2023, the study spaces in the Bergstraße Library will be unavailable for use.

In addition, any items located in the Bergstraße Library will not be available during the relocation period.

We offer you this support:

To ensure that you can continue to use items from the Bergstraße Library, the majority of the holdings can be borrowed from 01 August 2022 for the entire relocation period. Unfortunately, we cannot make the following items available for loan: periodicals (single issues, bound periodicals, periodical-type volumes), commentaries on laws and loose-leaf collections. If you have any questions, please contact the colleagues on site (see contact).

In addition, the items from the Bergstraße Library can be ordered via interlibrary loan during the entire relocation period, and you can also submit a PurchaseTip for further required materials.

We recommend our Central Libraryand the DrePunct / Makerspace Libraryas the nearest alternatives for learning and working on-site during the relocation period. Information about these locations, available study spaces and opening hours can be found here.
