Provision of Closed Stack Items

All materials stored in our stacks can be ordered with some advance notice and then picked up in the self-collection areas and at the service counters of our libraries.

Resource availability times

Central Library

Orders received Monday through Friday by 1:00 p.m. can be picked up the same day in the self-pickup area or at the service counter, or accessed in the Collections Reading Room. Orders placed after that time will be made available to you on the next business day (excluding Saturdays and Sundays).
The materials will be available for pickup for five opening days.
Works published before 1850 can only be found in the Collections Reading Room.
Large-format newspaper volumes and microforms are made available in the self-pickup area (special-format pickup shelf) on Level -1.

DrePunct Library/Makerspace

Orders received Monday through Friday by 9:00 a.m. will be available for pickup in the self-pickup area the same day. Orders placed after that time will be available on the next business day (excluding Saturday and Sunday).
The items will be available for pickup for five business days.

External stacks

The delivery time for requested materials from the external stacks of the Central Library, the DrePunct Library, the Interim Bergstraße Library and the Fiedlerstraße Library can take up to 10 days.
