The application procedure for the start of training as a FaMI 2024 is open. We look forward to receiving your application by the 1st of January 2024!

  • Bookbinder (m/f/d)
  • IT Specialist (m/f/d) for Application Development
  • IT Specialist:in (m/f/d) System Integration

Unfortunately, there are no bookbinding or IT specialist positions available for the 2024 training year.

You can find more information on the subpages of the individual training programmes.

We look forward to receiving your application!

  • Curriculum vitae in table form. Perhaps this already shows an interest in your chosen field of training?

Traineeship at the SLUB Dresden

In addition to various apprenticeships, we also train academic library volunteers.

The traineeship lasts two years and consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The practical part of the traineeship takes place directly at the Central Library in Dresden, the theoretical training takes place as distance learning in the postgraduate Master's programme "Information Science", formerly "Library and Information Science" at the Humboldt University in Berlin. The costs for this course of study are borne by the SLUB. A completed library traineeship qualifies for higher academic service in libraries, for example as a subject specialist or in leading positions.

The application requirement is a successfully completed academic university or college degree.

The application period for a traineeship at the SLUB, starting in October 2024, is expected to begin in January or February 2024. Further information on traineeships at the SLUB can be found here.
