How to Extend the Loan Period?to top

You may extend the loan period of your media twice via your account if no other user has requested them. Extension requests can also be made using our contact form, by e-mail, by post or by phone.

The extension period begins the day you trigger the extension, not on the termination date of the loan period that has already been granted to you.

Return of Borrowed Itemsto top

If no longer needed, please return your media at the self-service return machine at the Central Library or at the circulation desk in one of our libraries.

Returning borrowed media is possible at all SLUB locations. At the Central Libraries' self-service return machine you can return media all troughout the overall opening hours. You are also welcome to return your media at the service desks, but these are only manned during the service hours. It is not possible to return musical notes with loose inserts as well as audio media and videos at the self-service return machine.

Returned media are automatically discharged from your account. Please retain your return receipt for future reference.

Media borrowed via interlibrary loan have to be returned at the Central Libraries' circulation desk.
