Dissertations at the TU Dresden

The publication of a dissertation or habilitation and the submission of deposit copies is specified in the Doctoral Guidelines / Regulations for Habilitations of the Faculties of the TU Dresden.

Electronic Publication and Submissionto top

The electronic version is published on the document and publication server Qucosa according to the principle of Open Access.

The following has to be submissioned:

  • The electronic version of your dissertation / habilitation with all pictures, tables, and graphics as a PDF-file and in the original production format
  • bibliographic information / metadata
  • the completed and signed Letter of Agreement for electronic Publishing in Qucosa
  • 5 printed and bound copies (except for Faculty of Education)

The following table shows the number of copies to be submissioned by faculties.

We offer the possibility to publish the electronic version of your thesis additionaly or later on the document and publication server Qucosa (Open Access).

Where and How can you submit the Documents?to top

1. Registration of the electronic version and the bibliographic information / metadata on Qucosa using the

Input Wizard

2. Submission of the printed copies (and the »Letter of Agreement for electronic Publishing in Qucosa« if published electronically)

  • Making an appointment for personal submission in the SLUB or
  • Postal Delivery to the SLUB or
  • Submission at the information and circulation desks of the SLUB

After a successful check of the submissioned data / copies for formal completeness and consistency your PhD Board will receive the receipt of submission, usually within 3 workdays.
