Reading Roomsto top

Central Reading Room

In the library we offer an atmosphere in which you can develop yourself! Workplaces are available at all locations, alone 200 are available in the central reading room in the Central Library. If you are looking for special quiet zones, we offer laptop free areas for example in level -2.

The collections in the central reading room are arranged according to the Regensburg Classification Scheme, RVK):

  • Reading room reference section
    e.g. general reference works, lexicons and encyclopedias; RVK class F - Classical Philology; Byzantine Studies; Middle Latin and Modern Greek Philology; Modern Latin.

Special Collections Reading Room

Especially valuable and fragile works of our collections are handed out in the Special Collections Reading Room on level -1.
The use of maps is possible in the map reading room on level -2 of the central library.

Group Working Roomsto top

If you want to work cooperatively with other persons or if you are looking for presentation facilities for your working results you can reserve one of the group working rooms in the Central Library as well as in the Branch Libraries of Education, Law, Forestry and Medicine.

For all parents we offer the group working room 0.41 in the Central Library. It is equipped with a selection of toys for the children and a computer for the parents. In the entrance area of the Branch Library of Education another parent-child-zone is to be found.

For the very small ones, you will find a changing table in the disabled toilet facilities on level 0 of the Central Library. In the Branch Library of Forestry, a changing table is also located in the disabled toilet facility on the ground floor of the Rossmaessler-Building.

Carrelsto top

For the work on a scientific final paper it is possible to reserve a carrel for a period of 3 months.

Internet Workstations and Media Playerto top

At our computer workstations you can use our electronic services or the Internet. The workplaces offer ports for USB flash drives, so you can save your search results or full-text downloads. In addition, the workstations are connected to our in-house printing service ACRIBIT Copy Shop.

A specially equipped workstation for blind or visually impaired is available in the Central Library.
