All persons who are at least 14 years old can use the SLUB Dresden. By entering the library building, you accept our regulations and are entitled to use our freely available resources.

If you want to use online resources or borrow books from the SLUB or other libraries, you'll need a library card, which can be issued at all SLUB library locations.
First, please send us your personal information by using our registration form. For identification, please bring your ID card or a passport and an official certificate of residency. Students of the TU Dresden: Please also provide a certificate of matriculation.
People under 16 need to present written consent from a parent or guardian, an ID card or passport, and an official certificate of residency.
You can request and renew media online, or reserve checked-out items, if you log in to your user account. Upon receipt of your library card, please change your personal user account password and create a PIN.
Please suspend (deactivate) your account immediately, in order to prevent any form of misuse, and contact the SLUB circulation desk. A new library card costs € 5.00.
