Our Subject Librarians are available to answer questions about library resources, research strategies, focusing a topic, citing sources, evaluating information and more. They are also responsible for new acquisitions for their subject area and decide where the new media should be placed in the stacks. The Subject Specialist Librarians also take your purchase recommendations into account. In addition, they work closely with the faculty-library representatives in the various university departments, as well as with the SLUB Branch Librarians.
Subject Specialist Librarians offer guidance and information regarding:
- Efficient research methods for term papers, theses, dissertations, etc.,
- Successful use of subject area databases (in German),
- The reference services we offer,
- Research tools and strategies for working and publishing in the various academic disciplines,
- Library orientation for new students, as well as for advanced students, and faculty members.
