Accessibility for People with Disabilities

The SLUB Dresden Central Library is designed to be accessible to library users with disabilities. Specifically designated work stations are available in the public areas, and are clearly marked. Near the Information Desk on the ground floor (level 0), there is a desk suitable for persons in wheelchairs.

The bookshelves in the open stacks are placed far enough apart as to make this area accessible to persons in wheelchairs as well.

There are accessible restrooms and elevators on each of the three floors of the Central Library.

The railings in the stairwells are equipped with braille markings to aid mobility of our sight-impaired users.

Parking spaces for the disabled are located left of the gate at the SLUB parking lot.

The barrier-free entrance to the building is clearly marked.

Our security personnel will be happy to assist you and help you find your way to the accessible public areas of the Central Library.
