Since 1993 the SLUB Dresden has been responsible for the special-subject collection "Contemporary Art after 1945, Photography, Industrial Design and commercial art". The national special-collections program of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) supports the acquisition of printed and digital media on this subject as completely as possible. The goal is to make one copy of all scientific publications permanently availabe in Germany. The acquisition of domestic literature is accomplished with resources of the library, the DFG sponsors the acquisition of foreign literature from Europe and North America.
arthistoricum.net– the Virtual Subject Library of Art offers the possibility to search comprehensively books and journals of the special-subject collections "Contemporary Art" and "Art History" (UB Heidelberg), to search information about artists in the database ConArt or to browse art historical internet resources in the Art-Guide.
